Projector

HTPS is used in projectors which utilize the 3LCD system, and they are called 3LCD projectors or LCD projectors. The internal optical systems are different based on the display device for use, and there are several types of projectors.

With 3LCD at the top, projectors currently available on the market primarily use one of the following three systems.

  • 3LCD System
  • DLPTM System
  • LCOS System

* DLPTM (Digital Light ProcessingTM) is a trademark of Texas Instruments Incorporated.

3LCD System

Incident light from the light source is divided into red, green, and blue using a special mirror called a dichroic mirror, which transmits the light with a certain wavelength, and after the light controlled by LCDs for each color is recomposed with a prism, the picture is projected.

Benefits of 3LCD

Bright Images:
High light transmission and high color reproduction in 3LCD System projectors

Natural images:
Excellent gray scale on dark areas and color reproducibility by analog gray scale display

Gentle on the eyes:
No color breakup, such that occurs with Single-Light Valve Field sequential color projectors
