HTPS has thin-film transistor (TFT) generated by poly-silicon in each pixel, as its name indicates.
These pixel transistors act as a conduction switch by changing scan line's voltage.
It is produced in the same way as semiconductors. It is small and highly reliable because it can easily achieve miniaturization (pixelation or high open area ratio) and drivers can be generated on substrates by processing at a high temperature. |

| TFT substrates are produced by generating very thin material layer on a silicon board using advanced coating technology and plotting necessary patterns as shown in the image below. This technology is called photo-lithography, which can form TFT elements and driver circuits by overlapping layers. |
